Data Fusion System

Climate, satellite, biodiversity and statistical open data, brought to the same regions and periods, ready for analysis on HPC.

Qumasc is a service of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.

How it works

Every dataset is made in five steps, from a template or a recipe to analysis-ready files.

What you get

  • Many sources, one table

Climate reanalyses, satellite indices, species records and official statistics side by side, per region and period.

  • Regions as statistics offices define them

NUTS, LAU and TERYT in their versions, with correspondence tables between them.

  • Every empty value explained

Missing values carry flags that say why: no data at the source, too few valid cells, outside the period.

  • Licences combined for you

The licence of the result follows from all inputs, and the attribution text is written for you.

  • Full provenance, reproducible recipes

Inputs with checksums, steps and software as PROV and RO-Crate; run the recipe again to get the same dataset.

  • Your keys, your quotas

Data are fetched with your own provider keys, within quotas you can see on your dashboard.

A live example

Every regional dataset can be looked at on a map, such as mean July temperature per region from ERA5-Land made with a Qumasc template (the picture is an illustration). Example datasets with interactive maps and tables will be shown in Explore.

Data from

Qumasc reads data from these providers and services:

  • Copernicus Climate Data Store
  • Earth Data Hub
  • Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem
  • GBIF
  • Eurostat
  • GUS BDL
  • OpenStreetMap
  • GUGiK PRG
  • Government WFS services

Three ways to use it

Sign in, open New dataset, choose a template and fill in its form: the regions on a map or by search, the period and the variables. Qumasc checks the choices, shows the estimate and the licences, and runs the job; the dataset page then previews the result on maps and in tables and offers the files for download.

The form of a template: regions chosen on a map, the period and the variables, with the estimate and the licence of the result.

    Qumasc portal opened for testing

The web portal of Qumasc, the data fusion system of PSNC, is open for testing with a public website, documentation and a contact form.
